You’ll be whisked away from the airport to our accommodations for the next few nights. Hotel: Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali. Along the way, your senses will come alive as you take in the beauty of Kigali, Rwanda. You will soon discover why Rwanda is called the Land Of A Thousand Hills!

Enjoy your breakfast and Rwanda's delicious coffee or tea! Your Experience Curator will be waiting to take you on Kigali's most innovative tour. We will begin with a stop at Imbuga City Walk located in the city center. This Car free zone and green corridor is a great way to learn about the history of Kigali. Our first stop will be at Norrsken Kigali House - Africa's largest hub for Entrepreneurs. The next stops will be: Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi Campaign Against Genocide Museum You will have the option to do pottery and/or imigongo painting. Meals: Delicious lunch at one of your favorite restaurants. We can accommodate most food diets. We will drive you back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

You are in for a treat! Our next destination is Rusizi, a beautiful resort town by Lake Kivu. This is a beautiful drive that introduces you to Rwanda's calming nature scenery. On the way, we will make a visit to King's Palace and Nyungwe National Park for a Canopy Walk.

Wake up bright and early for Chimpanzee trekking and a visit to the world's newest waterfall - Ndambarare. Nyungwe National Park also boosts the best in Africa birdwatching in Africa with 322 bird species including Red-collared Babbler and 29 other Albertine Rift Endemic species. Butterflies are also a common sight, with at least 120 species. After your amazing day in the park, we will take you back to your hotel in Rusizi.

We drive along the Kivu Belt scenic and head to Karongi on our way back to Kigali. You will visit the family Coffee Farm by boat. In the evening, you will enjoy Rwandan traditional dances at the Hôtel des Mille Collines popularized in Hollywood as "Hotel Rwanda".

Day 6 Shopping Or Gorilla Trekking

This is your free day! You can venture to shops, restaurants, and galleries in Kigali or You can add an option to see Gorillas in their natural habitat!

Day 7 Good Bye Kigali

You will enjoy a relaxing morning and last day in Kigali.

I thoroughly enjoyed Charles' company from ZaNiheza, which provided valuable insights into Rwanda and understanding Kwibuka, remember, -unite-renew. As a delegate at the 2023 Awief conference, witnessing African women taking leadership roles for a better Africa, with Rwanda leading in gender representation, was a source of pride. I admired the country's commitment to zero tolerance for crime and corruption, rapid digital transformation, and the evident focus on safety, security, and economic development. Kudos to Irene Ochem for her impactful role. Exploring Kigali during the conference was another highlight. The challenging Gorilla trekking tour became a remarkable bucket list experience. I immersed myself in local culture, sampled cuisine, and banana beer, enjoyed bike rides, and braved the Chilli. Charles encouraged me to engage with locals, making the trip more enriching. While the Genocide Museum left me despairing, it reinforced the importance of learning from history in the spirit of Kwibuku. Sad to say that nations and their leaders continue to inflict pain, destruction, and death on humankind.
