At 10am check out and meet your guide at the hotel reception for your transfer to OR Tambo International airport, Johannesburg, for your flight (13H45) to Cape Town. Meet and greet at Cape Town International Airport by an Afri-Centric representative and transferred to Franschhoek in the Winelands. Franschhoek is notable for having some of the top restaurants in the country within its borders. This fact, together with the strong wine culture, and pristine natural and architectural beauty has made Franschhoek into what many describe as the "food and wine capital" of South Africa. After breakfast embark the wine tram for a day filled with world class wine tastings and stories from wine makers like Klein Goederust, Paul Siguqa’s boutique winery in Franschhoek. After acquiring the land in 2019 and renovating and restoring the century-old vineyard and its historic buildings, Siguqa is now the first black man to own a wine farm in Franschhoek. A representative of Afri-Centric will meet you after breakfast in the hotel foyer and transfer you through the beautiful Winelands to Langa for a “Walking in our shoes” cultural walking tour. You will experience the rich history and culture of the oldest and most historic townships in Cape Town, South Africa. Learn about, and become a part of, the amazing community of Langa. Situated only 12 km (7.4 miles) away from Cape Town Central Business District (CBD), and a mere 10 minutes away from Cape Town International Airport. Walk with your personal guide through the township to experience Langa from a unique and authentic point of view - getting a holistic view and understanding of the township. Included in the tour is a visit to a traditional healer, taste of local street food and enjoying the sounds of the marimba band. The tour includes a traditional lunch. Your personal guide for the day will meet you after breakfast. Your first stop for day (weather dependent) is Table Mountain. Table Mountain is a World Heritage Site, and it’s easy to see why. The unique flora and fauna found on the mountain are like nothing else in the world, and there are numerous hiking trails to explore. You will take the cable car to the top of the mountain (but a hike can be arranged at extra cost if preferred). The views from the top of Table Mountain are simply unbeatable. You can see for miles in every direction, and on a clear day you can even see all the way to Robben Island. The cable car ride up to the summit is an experience in itself. The state-of-the-art carriages take you up the mountain in style, and the views out over the city are stunning. Your guide will be waiting for you at the food of Table Mountain. After your descent the personal transport will take you to the V&A Waterfront Clock Tower for your departure and afternoon visit to Robben Island Museum. Robben Island is best known as the site of a maximum-security prison where Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners were incarcerated during apartheid. Today, it is a popular tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Robben Island is a must-see for any tourists visiting South Africa. The island has a long and fascinating history, and it is now home to a variety of attractions. From Robben Island, you can get unparalleled views of Cape Town’s skyline and Table Mountain. After returning to the V&A Waterfront you can either choose to linger longer in this World-Class Waterfront or return to the Guesthouse to refresh. After breakfast meet with your personal guide and soak in the beautiful landscape of Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak Drive on your way to Cape Point Nature Reserve. Situated at the southwestern tip of Africa, the Cape Point Nature Reserve is one of the most pristine and unspoiled places on earth. With its dramatic cliffs, pristine beaches, and breathtaking views, the reserve is truly a sight to behold. Cape Point is more than just a pretty place; it is also home to a unique variety of fauna and flora. From the rare Cape Mountain zebra and Bontebok, to the beautiful orange-breasted sunbird and pelagic birds that drift in the air currents just off shore, there is an abundance of wildlife to be found in this special place. Cape Point Nature Reserve is also home to a lighthouse that has been in operation since 1857. The lighthouse is situated on the edge of a cliff, offering stunning views of the surrounding coastline. One can reach the lighthouse be tram or by foot once you have reached the public area in the reserve. Enjoy lunch at the Cape Point restaurant (own account) before leaving for Simons Town where you can experience African Penguins at Boulders Beach in their natural environment. The colony, which lives incongruously in the middle of a residential area, is one of the few sites where African penguins – previously called Jackass penguins because of their braying call – can be observed at close range, as they wander freely in a protected natural environment. On your way back to the hotel, stop at Kalk Bay, a small harbour town located on the False Bay coast of South Africa. The town is best known for its unique fishing community and its seal population present at the harbour. Every day, fishermen head out to the bay in search of fish or calamari, and everyday visitors to Kalk Bay can enjoy fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants lining the harbour. The streets are filled with local art and coffee shops.
