Namibia combines desert, coast, wildlife, and adventure better than any country on earth. Discover the 8 best things to do in this extraordinary country called Namibia
Lunch at leisure (may be included on option with supplement, depending on the flight time)
Upon our arrival in Namibia, we will be met by our Namibian local guide who will help us with all information and transfer to our accommodation in town.
Breakfast and if the City was not done the day of arrival meet your host at 09:00 and start your city tour of Windhoek and learn more about history of Windhoek and its culture and after the city tour, travel via the most scenic road in Namibia with a stop at Solitaire before arriving in the Namib Desert.
Our destination is the dune fields that cover the western reaches of the desert. Long dusty roads and sparsely populated farmlands offer us an insight into the vastness of rural Namibia. From the grasslands in the east to the red dunes of the west the slowly changing landscapes represent many faces of this desert country. Tonight, we will be accommodated on the doorstep of the dune fields and if we are lucky, we may fall asleep to the unique calls of the elusive Barking Gecko. Lunch on the way, dinner at the lodge
Early morning departure for the MORNING COLOURS over the red dunes. It is an iconic highlight of any trip to Namibia and this morning we rise before the sun to capture this magnificent moment. A brisk climb up Dune 45 offers us the perfect vantage point to marvel at the changing colors of the desert. Once satisfied we descend this famous dune and enjoy a hearty breakfast pack before catching a 4×4 transfer into Sossusvlei, here we will spend time on foot visiting the pans at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.
Continue north and make our way to the coastal town of Swakopmund, where adventure and a dose of civilization await. Reluctantly we leave the Namib behind and after a stop to visit the little landmark of Solitaire, and our crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn, we continue to the Atlantic coastline.
Swakopmund, with its quaint Bavarian style architecture, is the principal coastal resort of Namibia. Time spent here will be at leisure, enjoying the charm of the old town or undertaking one of the many optional activities on offer (scenic flights, quad biking, etc. at your own expense).
Set along Namibia's spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide-open avenues, colonial architecture, and its surrounding otherworldly desert terrain. Founded in 1892 as the main Harbour for German Southwest Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort town, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, adventure options, laid-back atmosphere and cool sea breeze make it a very popular Namibian destination. Visitors can look forward to a number of exciting activities including quad biking, horse riding, paragliding, fishing, sightseeing, and fascinating desert tours.
14:00 join the Quad team and experience some of the best adrenaline rush moment as you gazed in the Namib Desert on your quad.
After breakfast, we will drive to Walvis Bay for our Marine Dune Day with Walvis Bay Tours Guide. A morning Marine Boat Cruise is where a variety of bird species can be seen, as well as a seal colony. There is also some chance, if we are lucky, to see two of the dolphin species and the leatherback turtles that inhabit this area of the Namibian coast (visibility not guaranteed). A brunch on board is included, with oysters and finger food and local sparkling wine.
Afternoon we drive to Sandwich Harbour to witness the only place where Ocean and Dune Meet, this afternoon activity is an ultimate one and worth exploring and experiencing it.
Breakfast and we departure for Omaruru via Omadumba to learn more about the first people to live and wonder the Southern Africa. The SAN People are the first to arrive in Namibia and live here.
Afternoon, have the best experience as you will discover something that many may not have thought but Namibia produce Wine and Whiskey of which today you will have an opportunity to take and wine and Dine at this fine winery.
Situated in Central Namibia, the cosmopolitan city of Windhoek serves as the capital of the country. It is home to an international airport and a plethora of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and accommodation options. The city is clean, safe, and well-organized, with a colonial legacy that is reflected in its many German eateries and shops, and the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek has an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth a look, including the AlteFeste an old fort, the 1896 Christuskirche Christ Church, and the more contemporary Supreme Court.
